Registry Essentials

Congrats! You're growing a human, now what? I'm not going to say that I am the best registry builder there ever was but I'd like to think I have it down to a science.
When to start? Personally, I started my registry around 12-16 weeks and then made it public after 24 weeks because I'm a labor nurse and wanted to wait until after my anatomy scan and when I was viable but that's just all personal preference.
Where to start? Oh man, this one is tricky. Honestly your registry will initially probably take you around 2-3 hours to just get a rough draft and then after many fine tunes might be ready. Also the great thing about registries is that you can continue to modify them as much as you want.
First pick out the platform. There are many different platforms such as amazon or target but my favorite is babylist and I'll tell you why. I like babylist because you can add items from anywhere such as etsy or in our case with our first, rogue. You're not limited in only getting items from amazon or another big box store and the app is super user friendly.
I like to do the rough draft just me and then when I wanted to fine tune things I invited my partner to look at it but honestly he knew that I did a bunch of research and trusted my input (also I think he didn't really want to be as detail oriented as me and geek out over bibs and changing pads).
I have my pinterest board with all the things I deem as essentials so you can use that as a template and then plug in whatever substitutions you want.
Let me know what items you got and what has saved your life.
